Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Assistance Locating Missing Woman From Rainbow Festival

Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking assistance locating a woman from South Lake Tahoe, CA missing from the Rainbow Festival. The female subject Marie C. Hanson, a 54 year old female, was last seen on July 10th, 2011 at the Gifford Pinchot National Forest attending the Rainbow Gathering. It has been found that the persons traveling with her lost track of her at the festival, left without her and her family has been unable to reach her.  Deputies and Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office as well as United States Forest Service Law Enforcement Officers have been in the area for several days contacting attendees, passing out flyers with her picture, and taking statements.


After several days speaking with Rainbow Gathering attendees, witnesses have stated they saw her possibly hitchhiking out of the area. She was witnessed leaving with an unknown older adult white male, gray hair, 6’01, thin build and goes by the name of “Owl”. The unknown male subject is thought to be out of Key West, FL area.


The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office has been working in conjunction with South Lake Tahoe Police Dept. and is asking anyone who has seen or has information of Marie Hanson’s whereabouts to contact Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490 or South Lake Tahoe Police Dept. at 530-510-6110.
