On Wednesday, March 14th, Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Deputies executed a search warrant at 401 Harder Rd in Washougal, WA. Deputies were investigating a shooting complaint that was received March 7 from a residence in upper Washougal. A 22 yr old female heard a shooting noise near her residence and then discovered a bullet had entered her room. No injuries were sustained to anyone inside the residence, but a bullet entry hole was found near the female’s headboard.

Results of the investigation led to a search warrant being executed at the residence of 401 Harder Rd where 9 firearms were seized and products that are indicative of a meth lab were discovered inside the residence. After an addendum to the search warrant was applied for, Sheriff’s Deputies located materials that are used in the making or manufacturing of methamphetamine.

George Taylor, 48 yrs old, is currently in custody at the Skamania County Jail and being charged with false reporting, reckless endangerment and possession of methamphetamine. Deputies advised further charges are pending related to the meth lab.

“This event magnifies the importance of shooting in a safe manner. In this case, while the act of target practicing on private property was not prohibited, it can become an unsafe practice when you have adjoining property owners with homes in close proximity. What it is also disturbing is the subsequent discovery of precursors used for methamphetamine production” Stated Sheriff Brown.
