A Stevenson man was arrested early Sunday morning after Deputies responded to the report of an explosion in the NW Stevenson area. Christopher Dillingham, 45, was arrested and booked into the Skamania County Jail on charges of Malicious Mischief in Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of Explosive Devices.
The investigation indicates that Dillingham allegedly attached an explosive device to his dog and detonated it at approximately 3:45 AM Sunday morning. Deputies arrived to find the remains of the dog located on Dillingham’s property. Investigators from the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and the Metro Bomb Squad responded to the area and located several items of evidentiary value.
“We are grateful for the inter-agency cooperation that we have with the Metro Bomb Squad and the BATF”, said Undersheriff Dave Cox. “Their assistance resulted in a safe resolution to this case”.
Dillingham’s first appearance in Skamania County Superior Court will be later this afternoon.
The investigation continues in this case.
