The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office has teamed up with the Skamania County Fair Board and Stevenson Business Association to bring awareness to domestic violence at this year’s fair and parade. We are excited to be working with the “manupcrusade”, which is a non-profit organization committed to education and awareness of the issue of domestic violence. The manupcrusade has been working with large rodeo events and county fairs to raise awareness through the use of the color purple. This Saturday, August 20th, is designated as purple day at the fair and all parade participants and 4-H members will be wearing purple bandanas to raise awareness. A beautiful belt buckle has been donated by Montana Silversmiths and will be auctioned at the market sale on Saturday. Hats and bracelets will be available for sale at the Sheriff’s booth throughout the week while supplies last. All proceeds raised will go to support our local domestic violence office and shelter. Please consider supporting this cause by wearing purple on Saturday.
