Archer Mountain Fire Update 09/05/17


We have just received word that the Archer Mountain Fire is currently sitting at 25 acres on top of Archer Mt. and fire crews are working hard to contain the fire. Please continue to follow our page for latest updates. Evacuation levels still remain the same from earlier today. If you live out of Skamania County please contact your local fire departments for further information.


Level 2 now includes Patrick Lane and Foggy Ridge Rd


Level 3 has been extended to include Mclosky Creek Rd


Level 2 notifications have been extended to include Hillsberry Rd & Columbia Ridge Rd.


At this time Level 2 notifications are now in affect for residence on Mabee Mines Rd.


The Department of Natural Resources is currently working a forest fire on the south side of archer mountain. Evacuation notices have been given to those residents affected by the fire. State route 14 is open in both directions to passenger vehicles but is extremely congested. Interstate eighty four between Troutdale and hood river remains closed in both directions. Travel only if you have to. For information regarding evacuations please follow this page or the Skamania County Sheriff’s Facebook page for updates.


State Route 14 is open to all passenger vehicles, however it is very congested due to the fires and the traffic being routed from the closure of interstate 84. Only travel if you have to. State Route 14 is closed to ALL SEMI traffic in BOTH directions.

Archer MT Rd, Smith Cripe Rd, Franz Rd, Dimrill Dale Drive, Kellet Road and Victoria Lane.
