The Archer Mt. Fire has been declared 100 % contained as of 7AM this morning. All evacuation notices for the Archer Mt. Fire have been lifted. Residents who have been under level 2 and level 1 evacuation notices are now being advised they are completely clear of any evacuation level notice. This includes the following roads and all roads leading off these main roads listed below:
EVACUATION NOTICES LIFTED
Archer Mt. Road
Dim Rill Dale Drive
Mabee Mines Road
After meeting with the Incident Command team this morning and learning of the firefighting efforts yesterday, it is determined that the line around the fire is at 100%. Even with the fire now being contained it does not mean the fire is completely controlled. The type 3 Incident management team will turn the management of this fire over to the type 1 IMT that is managing the Eagle Creek fire across the river. That transition will occur on Friday morning. The Type 1 IMT will continue to assign resources to the Archer Mt. fire to ensure it does not escape containment lines.
We are grateful for the efforts of all the firefighters and command staff over the past 9 days. Their organization and commitment to getting this fire contained was a tremendous undertaking.
Until such time that we see a significant change in weather conditions, the Archer Mt. Fire area may continue to produce visible smoke and flame. If residents in the area see this activity and are overly concerned, they can call the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at (509) 427-9490 and notify dispatch. In the event of fire activity of an emergent nature please call 911.
