As we celebrate the 242nd anniversary of our Nation’s founding we ask that you do so safely and responsibly. We will soon see fireworks stands erected and sales commence. Under Washington state law, legal fireworks may be sold beginning June 28th through July 5th.

The use of fireworks and or alcohol is prohibited at county owned properties or recreation sites as found in section 12 of the Skamania County Code, to include the Wind River boat launch and Drano Lake.
Only consumer fireworks purchased at a State Licensed Fireworks Stand are allowed.
The Skamania County Sheriff will have additional patrols during the holiday period but will not have enough resources to respond to all fireworks complaints. The patrols will focus their investigation and enforcement efforts on complaints involving the discharge of illegal fireworks and discharge of fireworks outside the designated hours.
Sheriff Dave Brown would like to remind everyone that dry conditions are creating significant fire hazards throughout the county.
