Today, 12/13/2018, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a bomb threat at the Stevenson High School. The threat, in email form, was caught by the school’s IT department. They in turn reported the message, immediately, to our Community Prevention Deputy, who at the time was in the school.
Our office responded accordingly and requested the high school be placed in lockdown. The nature of the message, threat relayed, and generic nature and monetary request led us to believe the threat to be less than credible. The entire school, both interior and exterior, was searched by our office with no threatening devices or subjects located.
The message itself was vetted through the Washington State Fusion Center and found to have been distributed state wide. The Stevenson High School did an outstanding job from notification to lockdown and then eventual release.
