On July 19, 2020 at approximately 8:12pm, Skamania County EMS and Deputies were dispatched to a hit & run collision involving a pedestrian at the 1400 block of the Wind River Road, Carson, WA. The initial information, confirmed by first responders, was Tammy M. Sweeney, 57, of Carson, WA was walking northbound on the shoulder of the Wind River Road with a 12-year-old family friend when she was struck by a northbound, silver or dark colored sedan. The striking vehicle did not stop and continued northbound, according to witness accounts.
Sweeney was transported to SW Washington Medical Center with critical injuries to her head, arm, and torso, the 12-year old was not injured. On
July 20,2020 Deputy Summer Scheyer and Sgt Ryan Taylor resumed the investigation and after a thorough canvass of the neighborhood, to include the local businesses, were able to identify the suspect vehicle and driver.
At approximately 7:00 pm, the alleged driver, Ellis M. Scrivens, 27, of Carson, WA was taken into custody and lodged in the Skamania County Jail on a charge of Felony Hit & Run. Her vehicle, a 1986 Honda Accord was located at her residence and impounded.
