Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Executes Search Warrant, Recovering $300,000 Worth of Marijuana

On May 19th, 2011, Deputies from the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant on a residential address in western Skamania County. The warrant led to the discovery of a fully operational marijuana grow house. Officers seized 1,050 marijuana plants at the residence, with a street value in excess of $300,000.

“This was a 3 story residential home with seven rooms full of marijuana plants and a sophisticated grow equipment system” said Detective Tracy Wyckoff.

No suspects were at the residence during the execution of the search warrant and the investigation is ongoing.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that while indoor marijuana grows can be conducted year around, it is also the season for outdoor growing operations. The Sheriff’s Office asks the community to please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood that you may think is illegal in nature.

Citizens can contact Detective Wyckoff at the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490. There is also a Marijuana Eradication Program Hotline, 800-388-4769, that is coordinated through the Washington State Patrol and the Drug Enforcement Administration which pays reward for information leading to the seizure of growing marijuana.
