My name is Marlea McKenzie and I am the Chief Civil Deputy for the Sheriff’s Office. When you come to the Sheriff’s Office with questions or concerns our civil staff is usually the first people you contact.

The Civil Department processes all of the offense and information reports from the deputies, manages the sex offender registration and tracking, enters criminal warrants and files protection/restraining orders. We also handle civil paper processing and service, Concealed Weapon Permits, prisoner booking files and a myriad of other duties.

Probably our most important job is greeting the public that comes into the Sheriff’s Office. We make sure that we help them in any way possible. Sometimes this means directing them to another department or person, but sometimes it means just taking the time to listen.
