The Skamania County Jail is responsible for the housing and welfare of all subjects arrested within Skamania county. We also contract with Department of Corrections, as well as, Battle Ground, Washougal and Camas Municipal Courts to house their inmates.
Our officers are certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and crossed trained/certified in 911 Telecommunications & Dispatching.
Skamania County Jail also has a Work Crew that utilizes in custody and out of custody individuals. Our Work Crew has assisted in several projects within Skamania County. Such projects include building handicap picnic tables for the Columbia Gorge Scenic Area, manufacturing information signs for the Mt. St. Helens Volcanic Monument, and the removal of noxious weeds from the Gifford Pinchot National Forest & the United States Army Corps of Engineers property.
