On February 19th 10 members of the sheriff’s office dive team conducted an underwater
search in Roosevelt, Wa. for a pending cold case for Klickitat County. Due to high winds, heavy
swells, and poor visibility, after a few hours of searching the mission was suspended.
The dive team just made it back into the area when they were paged out for a vehicle collision
where a vehicle ended up submerged in the White Salmon River in Husum, Wa. It was learned the
occupants made it out of the vehicle and were un injured. Due to environmental issues, Bob’s Towing
from Carson responded with their large boom truck. Divers were able to rig the vehicle in which it
was pulled from the water. Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
