RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE AFTER LOCAL TRAGEDY HITS COMMUNITY

On 02/23/2023, our county was hit with a tragic event that has a ripple effect throughout our tight-knit community. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is not at liberty to release the details of what occurred. However, we do want to convey a message of help and available resources. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Stevenson-Carson School District to ensure the needs of students and parents are met. The Stevenson-Carson School District will be providing counseling support resources and details will be provided in a pending district E-mail.

There are resources available for anyone, 24- hours a day, experiencing a mental health crisis. The national lifeline number is 988, where you can call, text, or chat with a trained counselor. Additionally, Skamania County Community Health can also provide local assistance through their 24-hour crisis line at 509-427-3850.
