SUSPECT DRIVER IN PURSUIT ARRESTED IN CARSON

On 03/29/2023, Skamania County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted in serving a search warrant for a woman suspected of evading law enforcement in a vehicle pursuit. Wasco County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police attempted to stop a vehicle near The Dalles, Oregon after receiving reports of a theft and burglary at Coastal Farm and Ranch in The Dalles. The suspect vehicle crossed the Hood River Bridge, into Washington, and was later located, abandoned, in the city of White Salmon. The male passenger, identified as William Forbes, 33, of Carson, Washington was located and taken into custody in White Salmon. Information was acquired by the Bingen-White Salmon Police Department that the female driver, identified as Elizabeth Purkeypyle, 29, of Carson was transported to a residence in the 700 block of Carson. Bingen-White Salmon Officer Frank Randall applied for, and was granted, a search warrant for the residence to take custody of Purkeypyle. Several Skamania County deputies, including the Canine Unit, assisted in serving the search warrant and Purkeypyle was taken into custody without incident. Forbes and Purkeypyle are currently housed in the Klickitat County Correctional Facility.
