The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office is investigating suspicious circumstances after locating a deceased subject near the U.S. Forest Service 43 Road. After receiving reports of a missing person, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office organized a search mission near the reported area of the subject’s last known location. On 07/20/2025, a subject, who has not been positively identified, was located, deceased. With the assistance of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes team, Skamania County Major Crimes Detectives processed the scene and are actively investigating the incident. At this time, no identified threat to the public has been identified and this appears to be an isolated incident. Further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
