The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office has continued the investigative efforts for the suspicious death of a subject located near the U.S. Forest Service 43 Road, north of Carson, Washington on 07/20/2025. The manner of death has been determined a homicide by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. The subject was positively identified as Jacob DeSha, 20, of Carson. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office believes this to be an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
Skamania County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are diligently pursuing any leads developed during this investigation. Detectives are requesting the public to report any suspicious persons and/or vehicles observed from July 1, 2025 to July 20, 2025 near the southeast portion of the 43 Road, as well as the Hemlock/Stabler area north of Carson. Detectives encourage residents in the Stabler/Hemlock community and those along Wind River Road to check home surveillance systems for suspicious persons and/or vehicles during this time period.
